I am a Design Engineer and technology professional. In my early days in the automotive industry I was a member of design and development group, we would shorten a two year sheet metal prototyping process to 4 months, with better results and interoperability across all major automotive producers. I then spent the next 10 years innovating technology for Frank Gehry. During the early years with Gehry we worked on projects integrating 3D and information modeling in every aspect of architectural design and construction, which led to the founding of Gehry Technologies (GT). As GT developed software and consulting services, I was directing design technologies within the firm that would allow architects to move into a collaborative design process while designing and building complex structures worldwide. The collaborative design process was the emerging design philosophies known as Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM). From Gehry, I went to the world renowned consulting engineering firm, Buro Happold as a computational design expert implementing interdisciplinary design technologies, design automation, custom tool development, and complex structural modeling and analysis. At BH I was consulting on complex; facades, structures and art installations.
